In order to practice meeting people and making small talk a location is needed. A location to practice and where you can safely fuckup and then repeat the whole thing. A location where you can consistently practice and fuckup without consequences. What is this location?

A coffee shop? I would have to stand up from my spot, walk up to some person or girl and try to make some small talk. Once rejected or getting negative responses or whatever it gets really hard to repeat the process with the next person on the next table considering this person most likely noticed the whole thing. Imagine going from table to table like that. It's stupid.

A park? People sitting on the grass, they will see me coming from far away. Probably not even want to talk to a stranger. They know I will try to do something. Once fucking up I'd have to walk upto the next group of people, and then the next and the next. Very quickly everyone will have figured out what I'm upto.

A bar? Same issue. After fucking up and moving towards the second or thirth group of people everyone will know what I'm upto.

The street? People do not talk to strangers on the street around here. I would be the rare exception and most people will think im trying to sell something. How is this going to help overcoming social anxiety? How to recognize people who are open to talk to strangers? What in the hell would one say on the street?

A Book store? Going from one person to the next inside a bookstore will get me noticed very quickly. Doubt I will be allowed to do that for long.

Where to practice this stuff consistently and safely? It is hard enough to try to talk to people or girls. I have crippling fear of this stuff. "Consistent exposure in small managable steps" is the way to go according to all I have read. How can one be consistent in managable steps if the envoirement is against me?
