There was a massive social engineering movement to drive down wages and increase the number of people on the tax rolls. So women were convinced that HAVING to work, is freedom, NOT having to work is enslavement.

That's the short version.

For the question in the title, I'd say it's a mix of at least three different things: life's hard, so they want excuses; they want to feel special, so they want to be coddled victims; they're hipsters.

Mind you: it's not just women, it's bitch men too, but nobody cares about them because men that don't deserve respect are as repulsive as the ugliest, fattest women.

For the question in the body of the thread, that's nothing new; what better way is there to test if a man is better than you than by giving him problems he shouldn't concern himself with? Does he panic at the prospect of losing you or are you easily replaceable? shit testing written in our DNA.

It just seems to be pouring out of America in the last few years. I think its just been spurred on by Democrat leaning media as wedge tactics against the GOP. To try and completely capture the female voting block.

Because it is in the nature of a woman to try to take the power.
Because of their hypergamy, they want to bring the average men down, in order to get the high valued ones.
Inferiority complex. Subconciously, they know we are better than them in everything we think and do. They know it and they hate it.
Because women love the attention, and some want to boost their career.
There is a minority of women, who because of a past trauma or their sexual preferences, they hate men. Example are all the women who got deceived and humiliated by men, and try to get revenge.
Political reasons.

Think of it like this: 50 years ago, women were treated as housewifes with no freedom and education. Their hypergamy, had no control in obtaining a high value man.

Anyway, on a wider note, women have embraced it because fundamentally it's about keeping the beta bucks in line. You only need one alpha with good genes to fuck all day, so it suits the female sexual mating strategy to have an ample supply of beta bucks who do as they're told; the one alpha fucks that happens to emerge is enough to supply that side of the equation.

There are many reasons. One is:

Feminisms is trying to create the male unicorn. The alpha fucks and bucks.

Women would no longer having to settle for a beta after riding the carousel. Feminism wants women to be able to take the full ride and then settle with an actual alpha who has just the right amount of beta bucks traits to be stupid enough to marry them.

Because there's a class of people in both genders who can't identify with traditional roles.. masculine or feminine, so they'd rather bring down both roles instead of work to fit into one (not capable). This is why hideous hampsters and beta men are the backbone of the movement.
