There was this girl a couple of weeks ago. We got on really well when I first met her, and we remained to get on really well. Ended up spending a fair amount of time with each other at a festival. A couple of days after the festival, I asked her out, saying that I was going away, but would like to have dinner with her the night before. She said she couldn’t do the date because she was busy at a pretty big event. I spoke to my friends and they said ‘fair enough, everyone’s going to the event’. I couldn’t go to it because I was going overseas that day. Anyways, I have been rejected in the same manner before with the busy card, but before I left she said “have a great time in ___”. I said “thankyou, I’m sure it’ll be great. See you around when I’m back” to which she positively replied. I was kinda set back by this, because when I get rejected the girls normally are less positive. I’m not looking to actively chase her, but if she changed her mind in regards to the date I’d probably take her out. It’s probably for the best to move on. What’s your take on this?

While I don't always get some sort of consolation after I have been rejected, the process of getting rejected, staying on decent terms and then contact with her fading is a common thing that has happened multiple times.
