So this has been on my mind for a while, I don't really talk a whole lot. Granted I'm not the weird fuck with the runny nose who stands in the corner avoiding everyone talking to himself, I have absolutely no problem holding conversations, but I typically let the person I'm talking to do most of the talking (as we all know, people love talking about themselves). I ask questions, boost their self esteem by agreeing with them, etc.

It's just that I fucking hate talking about myself and I've always despised the type of person who can't shut the fuck up and tries to impress everyone at parties. I literally don't care and just feel as if people wouldn't care about my life story either. I've always been the kind of guy to observe mostly I guess. Usually resolve to lots of smiling and moving my eyes around when talking to girls (eye contact, looking at their lips, etc) and as cringy as it sounds, I like the 'mysterious" aura I give off. People know me, but not too well- I rarely let my guard down and always stay fairly reserved. Is this generally seen as a sign of weakness? I usually don't have problems with this, but I think some see it as a sign of me being too timid. Maybe it's just the way I was raised, but I was raised believing that men should be quiet, observe, and remain collected, but society seems to be drifting away from that as nearly everyone wants to be in the center of attention.

Thoughts?
