After a number of failures, I have decided to become a brand new person in 2018 and make it more than just a standard resolution to forget about in February. I have read Models and almost finished reading No more Mr Nice Guy. The latter revealed that I'm exactly the nice man being discussed throughout the book. I also downloaded The Book of Pook which is apparently considered a decent resource by this community.

Of course, I understand that theory has very little value without practice and trying to incorporate the new mindset into your life. I feel that this time I'm ready to finally quit the comfort zone I have been afraid to leave for so long. There's one catch though.

I still don't know how I can tackle my mood swings. They happen all of a sudden and even I often can't explain why. Sometimes I just start thinking about my past failures, what I could have become had I not been so lazy and passive, how far I currently am from the ambitious targets I have set for myself etc.

This is counterproductive, I know. I had better get rid of these demotivating thoughts and keep working on self-improvement. Yet, my mood remains unpredictable. After having spent a nice day with my family, now I am feeling low and defeated. Trying to "fake it till you make it" only makes it worse.

Has anyone experienced such mood issues? How did you handle it?
