How do you follow up your opener at night?

What i do after the opener is introduce myself and ask them what brings them out tonight and go from there.

I've known for a while, but only really understood over the past couple of days that cold reading (making guesses about a person based on their looks or behavior or other things you know about them) is a great way to bounce thoughts off or ask good questions about them.

It's the same principle that makes a good opener a good opener. It focuses on something about the person you're talking to.

Everyone's game is different. Some people think a great opener doesn't matter and there is some truth to that. However, a good opener can really get some good conversation rolling about stuff that isn't the norm. (Where are you from, what do you do type questions) if I see a group of girls standing (or sitting) around silently I'll ask "Are you guys people watching?" This almost always works and the question is harmless. They never are. From that point pick a target and start pointing people out and trying to speculate on what they do based off your observations with her. You can spend 5 minutes or so doing this and win over a whole group of girls while mainly interacting with 1 girl. At that point you lead! the conversation to try and guess what they or she does. From there she usually asks about what you do. "Let's grab a drink at the bar I'll tell you." This is a great point to isolate and tell them a story about how you got to where you are in profession. Instead of giving her a 1 word answer "Lawyer" you can tell them how you became a lawyer. "So when I got to college I had no idea what I wanted to do..." (I got the part about making your profession a story from Todd V). Idk of I answered your question but my point is, if you have a great and interesting opener, like the one I said earlier, you can start building some sort of connection before you even get to the basic questions that bore people. That way when they do come up she is at least a little bit invested as to what you have to say. Hope that helps.
