So yesterday I posted a kind of field report (badly written) on my first 8 hours of daygame in London. Now, I'll document the second.

Again, I must have done at least twenty approaches over the course of the day, and in a way the blowouts where as telling as the the closes.

I've realised that my voice has a tendency to be too quiet a lot of the time. This, combined with my tendency to sometimes come in with too little energy, is the cause of a lot of my blowouts. I still also have a slight issue with conversational threading (though this has improved even since yesterday) and ejecting early simply because I've run out of things to say!

Stand out sets:

1) One of my warm up sets. I mentioned I was visiting from Wales and she excitedly told me that she was also Welsh and in London for university. Teased her for keeping her (quite strong) Welsh accent and discussed the differences between London and Wales. Number closed.

2) Hipster looking blonde in a red beret with a nose piercing. Asked her if the food at Borough Market was really the best in London (as I'd been told). She enthusiastically talked me through the merits of various markets. Teased her by accusing her of working for Portobello market (which she kept insisting I had to visit). Was going to go for instant date or number close until her boyfriend came along....

3) Blonde student from Essex. A solid 10 (and I mean that, you would agree if you saw her). Went in with the assumption that she was Swedish (blonde, tall, attractive). When she said she was from Essex, I teased her with the Essex Girl stereotype. She asked where I was from and then teased me back about being Welsh. It was going brilliantly until she told me she was studying public relations. At this point I tease her about learning to cover up or put a positive spin on things and suggested that she had a "naughty side". Looking back, that was too much too soon - her demeanour changed slightly and she said she had to go. Claimed to have a boyfriend when I went to number close. I'll be kicking myself for days because it was going brilliantly till i brought a sexual element in too early and ruined it.

4) Czech student shopping in H&M. Got talking about her being from a small town outside Prague and how different that was to London. Mentioned that she was a graphic designer but that she didn't like her university course as she found it too restrictive. I said she could one day go freelance and design what she wanted. Number closed.

5) Swede #1 - lovely swedish girl who was amazed that I knew she was Swedish (blonde hair, clear skin, tall). Came over to visit her aunt originally but that was a year ago. Teased her about that being a really long visit! Then teased her about differences between Sweden and London. Went for number close but she said she had a boyfriend. In hindsight I should have kept her talking for longer and built a bit more attraction maybe.

6) Swede #2 - Swedish au pair who was also amazed that I guessed she was Swedish. Teased her about running around after someone elses kids and then talked about how it must be nice to live with a family while staying in a different country. Went for number close but she had a boyfriend (part of me thinks she genuineky did, since she did not seem happy to have to tell me that).

Bonus set) HB8 warm up - as part of my warmup, stopped an HB8 to ask where the best place to get a drink was in that part of London. Massive smile on her face, said she didn't know as she had just come in that morning for a casting. I asked what the casting was for and she said Formula One racing. I asked jokingly if she was a driver and she laughed and said she was actually a dancer auditioning for some promotional thing. Ran out of things to say so wished her luck and said goodbye. I'm including this one because I was kicking myself after. It was a great interaction and she seemed more than happy to speak to me. Should have kept with it for a while and then gone for some kind of close.

All in all - still made some progress. Just need to work on voice, tonality and keeping conversations going for longer. This should help with the initial stop and keep the girl hooked in the first few minutes (which is where I normally lose them).
