Uhh, 'starving artists' get laid. Passion for something is important, and you've got that. Stay in shape, learn all you can about screenwriting (maybe go to writing meetups if they have them in your area?), figure out cheap/free date options. Lots of museums or universities have free showings of classic or foreign films--take a girl to one of those, and then go to a dive bar and have a beer while you talk about what you learned from the movie.

A positive attitude and constructive passions are really attractive to women, no matter what challenges you face in your own life.
