Give back what is given to you unless the context is explainable. People make time for the people they want to so there shouldn't really be any unexplainable circumstances that warrant a long response time. Life is an equilibrium. I give my time to those who value it.

Stop texting her altogether. If she wanted to text you back, she'd text back. She is keeping you dangling off a chain, either out of insecurity or immaturity or out of disinterest. Either way, cut your losses and move on. YOUR girl will be psyched to see a text from you and will happily text you back within a reasonable amount of time. She will make you a priority. Texting is easy and takes 2 seconds. When she doesn't text back, her silence deafens.

I always match the average response time of a girl. She sends a few hour gap text I do as well unless it's something she warned me about like "I'm going to class/sorority shit then I wait like 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. I've never had a girl send a text a week later though... I'd look for other women.

Do they apologize for texting so late or just continue the convo? If they apologize then they probably somewhat forgot... If not and their responses are short then dead it.
