Maybe she felt better the next day? No brainer. Plus, women are herd animals. Can't risk not going to a birthday party.

I assume her friend directly asked her to attend, which trips her social response. Women will always attempt to be seen in a positive light by 'the group'. She didn't actually have a good reason not to go, so instead of just saying no, she saves face and goes.

Also, a woman's honesty is directly related to her emotional state. When she was talking to you, I imagine, she actually believed she didn't want to go. But I would venture to guess that is because her friend wasn't right there tripping her need to fit in with that group.

imagine you're teasing a cat with a laser pointer. Ultimate boredom: you point the laser once, the cat chases the dot and then it doesn't move so the cat walks on.

It's much more fun to keep moving the dot.

See, a woman's mind has a part that moves the dot to avoid being bored, and a part that chases the dot because she's fucking stupid as a cat.
