Hi, I'm a woman! Women tend to get a lot of messages like this, often from men they've never met and often with dick pics attached. It comes off as creepy, even though I'm sure that wasn't your intent. Most likely she will ignore it, please don't send her more messages if she ignores you!
If you have a mutual friend irl, try to set up a group event where the friend, you, and the girl will be in the same room at the same time. Then, even if nothing happens between you, you can add her on social media and it won't be weird.

Just go for it in person. The texting stuff usually won't work. You are not creepy or weird for it, fuck what these guys say. But they are right about it most likely not working and scaring the girl.
