Doesn’t matter what you say. It matters how you say it. There is nothing anyone can tell you to say because if you seem unsure when you say it it won’t have the same effect. So the best thing to say is whatever you’re comfortable saying with a confident demeanor and attitude.

I would say flirting is letting the person you’re interacting with know you’re interested in a subtle way.

If you’re funny you can make a person laugh and not be flirting. However, if you’re interested in them the humor might be a little different in tone and content.

Like, “you smell nice, did you shower this week?” If you said that to a guy friend it might be funny. If you said that to a girl you’re interested in, (if your delivery is playful and lighthearted) it may be seen as flirty.

If you’re pretty straight forward it might be a compliment but one you wouldn’t just give out to anybody. Your interest in the person will make it flirtatious.

For instance: “You look nice today” is something you could say to anyone and not be flirting. “Wow, you like really nice today.” With a subtle smile afterwards would be more flirtatious.

I will give you some examples mate:

INstead of hot or pretty, say hey you look kinda cute (let her guess what u meant)
(in a club) hey where's your bf? (if she says no bf), want a new bf tonight?
What's your type of guys? And whatever her reply is, reply her with "that sounds like me, wanna get together/married?"

Note that a "spike" is a special type of flirt, one that is overtly sexual. If you want to build some sexual tension and move things along in that dimension, spikes are important. Spikes can also not be flirts, but rather conversational (i.e., you bring up the "subject" of orgasms...).
