Not gunna lie getting approached on the bus is kinda creepy... But you could always start a conversation about what book it is or books in general. But I can't stress how distressed I would be to have someone approach me in public transport... But the best you got is hoping she sits near you and striking up a conversation about the book... But don't be creepy bus guy.

Because I'll be honest: based on what you've said, your chances of any kind of positive result are so low, it doesn't seem worth it at all...too much risk, and not enough reward.

She showed zero interest in you. Actually less than zero, it sounds like she doesn't even know you exist. Typically if you want any chance of success on a bus, she would need to show at least a bit of interest in you. Even just a bit of eye contact could be enough. If she hasn't even acknowledged your existence, chances are it was going nowhere and/or you were going to be labeled a creep.

If you stand in the middle of the bus and jump while it's moving the force will move you towards the chick effectively doing the approach for you.

I only "approach" girls on the bus if they sit next to me. I look at them and then try to start a casual conversation. Most times they have no interest on keep talking so I make a cool move and end the talk, but a few times we keep talking and very few times I got some phone numbers.
