I could use some advice. I've stumbled across something I need to deal with very carefully.

Cliffnotes: Went out on a first date with a girl I'm interested in. Would want an LTR, I like her. I chose the spot, made the plans and we had a kickass night.

Towards the end of the night she asked if I wanted to go back to her place to watch a movie. I said sure, went over to her place. We put on a movie... and she super distances herself. Puts a huge amount of space between us, suddenly becomes completely silent. I was confused as hell.

She tells me to stay the night, and wraps herself up, goes to the other side of the bed and goes to sleep. TRP in me the entire time was screaming "Go take her. Why the fuck haven't you advanced yet?" But something felt wrong. Going against everything I thought I should be doing, I trusted my gut and didn't try to be assertive and force something.

The next day, I told a close friend of mine who is friends with her, asking for advice. After hearing my confusion, he let me in on something I could not tell her I know. She has walls up because an ex boyfriend used to sexually abuse her. She doesn't talk about it, but it was very very bad. She hasn't had a boyfriend since, and it's been years. It's difficult for her to be intimate. She doesn't know that I know.

I'm not sure how to approach this. I want a second date and she talks to me like she normally does. I'm recognizing now there are a lot of walls up, and she doesn't know how to flirt. The fact it went as far as it did is a HUGE deal. I'm still interested in an LTR but it's difficult for me to tell if she is into me or not because of the baggage.

How do I deal with this? I want to show her security but it's still very early on.
