My biggest problem is talking and I don’t know how to overcome it

People used to always say I was quiet too and needed to open up.

What helped me was just talking with as many people as much as possible as often as possible. Before class, I would talk to people in the halls or at the desks. Even if I really didn't feel like it. Even if the conversation was short, I felt proud of myself for doing it.

Then I started eating lunch with the same people every day. That was good because now I had more time to spend talking. I also started going to dance lessons and talking to people there as much as I could. Then I went on a big road trip for school with some people, and was basically social 24/7 for over a week. After that I could talk to anyone for a long time. During the trip, I was still quiet a lot of the time, but I tried to push myself to talk, even if what I had to say was dumb.

Now I feel pretty confident in my conversation ability. I see it like a muscle. If I don't run for months, if I have to run a mile I'll be exhausted. But if I'm running 3 miles a day, running a mile isn't so bad.

There's also improv exercises you can do on your own that can help. Google a random noun generator, and then just challenge yourself to talk about the word for 1 minute. Then challenge yourself to talk about a word for a minute, but with emotion. Then try to tell stories based off the word. It's boring as hell, but might be worth a try.

You could also buy a course, I've done that too. Didn't hurt.
