As a woman, the reason behind 99% of women making eye contact and looking away is "I was looking at something else, accidentally made eye contact, and I'm now looking away in hopes this person doesn't think I'm interested." When walking, we look down for the same reason. We look up for a bit to see where we are going, see someone coming (almost always a man), then look down so we don't make eye contact so that they don't think we want to talk to them. Then we look up again. I'm telling you this to be honest, not to be mean. Women averting their eyes from you in NOT a show of interest.

Nope, the way to tell if a girl wants to initiate contact is this.

If she makes eye contact then looks away immediately, try to make eye contact again. If she doesn’t look again, it’s a no.
If she does make eye contact again, smile towards her. If she smiles then you’ve got a green light. Otherwise it’s a no.

I also sometimes get girls looking straight down at the ground while they're walking past me and once they walk past me they look up again. Do they feel intimidated by me or?

Uninterested IN you? Yes.

Dont read too much into it...ok? But I personally will look at a guy and then turn away because I honestly just caught his eye by accident/chance, OR, I am not interested in striking up a conv nor being approached. It is a well known "thing" amongst girls that "as long as I avoid contact...that guy wont talk to me". And sometimes despite that, some guy will push it and still try to make a move.

Tbh these girls seem like they never want to be approached?

If I'm walking along and I see a stunning girl who is in my opinion out of my league and I make eye contact accidentally, if I'm super nervous my eyes will dart to the ground. Because I am really attracted to her, I guarantee this can also be the case for women as well.

Dont rely on eye contact to approach, it's really just too random and irrelevant.

After caught looking, looking away, and looking away and down are signs of attraction, especially if there is some blushing or shyness involved. Disinterested women will look right through you as though you are not even there, like you would stare down a 400# inebriated femcel approaching you on Sadie Hawkins day.
