You draw them into the conversation you're already having, be friendly ask questions and get them to talk about themselves and be like a job interviewer who's judging him. Sort of friendly dominance.

That's assuming he has any game at all. If he's drunk, desperate, creepy, uncalibrated the girl will naturally gravitate to you and away from the guy. You csn basically ignore him (politely) and he'll go away.

If you have already built some rapport with her, then you're probably going to win out, so don't be in a hurry to run off. It's always possible she'll switch her attention to him. Deep down, every woman wants to see two guys get in a fist-fight over her attention. So, if you play it cool, you can "get her off" a little by going toe-to-toe (verbally, not physically) with him a little. This is not "alpha" crap, it's about showing the lady a good time by doing a little good-humored, verbal jousting. If he can't take a joke, he's going to come out looking like an ass and she's going to be that much hotter for you. But if he starts going full-Chad on her and she's responding to that positively, I'd move on because I personally find that kind of woman (idiot, basically) repulsive.

You ask how they know each other. If he's just some rando just be like "oh you're trying to hit on her then? Well go for it"
