On one hand I feel like I might have to come to terms with the fact that I won’t be getting laid from cold approach nearly as much as I would’ve hoped, but on the other hand I feel like this could just be an excuse/limiting belief and that I just need to crack the whip...

From the books I’ve read and the people I talk to. You need to do at least 1000 approaches, more like a few thousand before you get good. You also need to engage in “directed practice” which means you periodically analyze what you need to improve, what’s going wrong, what’s going right, then change things and iterate. If you fail to do the high number of approaches, you won’t get good. If you do a high number of approaches and don’t constantly seek to work out kinks and improve, you won’t get good.

Listening to lots of PUAs on youtube who practice and teach cold approach, at some point nearly all of them adopt a combination of cold approach, online apps, and as much social circle game as possible often based on connections to club owners for whom they do promotion and recruit babes and clients/students to fill tables.

Their cold approaches get far more efficient with practice because they develop strong intuition for detecting meaningful IOIs and they are ruthless at filtering out unavailable women with blunt funnel questions.

Because they still get flakes, they stack up to 3 dates per night say a cold approach girl, a tinder match girl and a friend of a friend who's visiting town. Say, 2 hours apart. When one is DTF, they blow off the other one(s) with apologies and reschedule.

These AFAICT are the tricks of the trade.
