I've been a fairly regular pot smoker for over 20 years, and discovered TRP a few months ago. After reading TRP maxims and attempting to make improvements in my life, I've increasingly begun to associate marijuana use with some beta behaviors. Anecdotally, I think continued smoking is possibly keeping me in a beta bitch mindset. Though I very much enjoy kicking back with a nice fresh bowl, I'm starting to think that I should probably cut back or give it up altogether, simply because it seems to bring out the following behaviors/attitudes:

  • lethargy/laziness
  • loss of focus or concentration
  • paranoia, lack of confidence
  • tendency to ramble endlessly and nonsensically
  • munchies/uncontrollable eating of junk food
  • lack of motivation (distinct from lethargy/laziness - more of a tendency to procrastinate)
  • overall loss of "frame" in social situations...tendency to be agreeable, malleable, liberal, some SJW thoughts

I'd like to hear from other smokers who have taken the pill. Are you able to continue smoking recreationally and still maintain focus, frame and motivation toward self-improvement? I think moderation is probably key with any form of substance use, but I tend to have a problem defining what moderation really means when smoking pot. Thanks for any advice, comments or suggestions.
