If you’ve got a basic competency in social situations you’re automatically way better than 50% of the competition. You don’t need any fancy pickup advice to learn this, you just need to focus on handling your social problems in a holistic manner.

“I think the reason girls don’t like me is because I’m too short”.

Mark was a kid in my fraternity back in my college days. I thought he could potentially be pretty cool. He was awkward, he was shy, but there was some aspect of his character that was intelligent and unique. There were a lot of small problems that Mark could have easily fixed with a little bit of confidence and learning, but instead he decided to pick an issue he has literally zero control of.

What occurred to me then, and what has been proven true many times since, is that so many guys try and blame issues outside of their control instead of confronting some difficult truths that are actually halting their progress.

So many guys blame height, looks, success, whatever is outside of their control for their dating problems but 9/10 the real problem is that the guy is socially awkward. It doesn’t need to be a damning reality, social awkwardness can actually be solved fairly easily. Really, as long as you’re willing to spend honest time learning (not doubting yourself, really actually seeking to learn) you can find ways to act cool.

Social awkwardness is a problem that halts your ability to attract most women almost instantly. I understand that it’s easy to say that and difficult to learn how to become socially competent. But it is possible, and pursuing that simple goal of “becoming more socially aware” is going to be far easier for you then trying to memorize some bullshit lines and trick your way into getting laid.

Most pick up artists are weird dudes that would struggle to carry on a normal conversation with the average person they weren’t desperately trying to fuck. Ironically, trying to learn how to fuck from someone like this is a lot like asking a Nazi to lead a Racial Sensitivity Seminar. It doesn’t matter how good of advice the nazi THINKs he is giving, anyone with any common sense can immediately see that it’s bogus.

Men follow this over intellectualized advice because they assume somehow that the reason they suck at girls is because the key to sexual success is locked away some mysterious netherworld that they, the unlucky, will never get access to unless they conceive the most complicated lines and gimmicks possible.

The unconscious thought process is something maybe like “I’m too short and being cool is impossible for me. The only thing I know that is this complicated is something extremely complex like mechanical engineering, so talking to women must be even MORE complex than that.” They won’t let their own minds recognize the reality that most “cool” people aren’t really doing all that much to act cool.

I promise you the solution to most of your girl problems is realizing that you struggle with social situations and need to learn how to get better in any and all situations. It’s not that you’re too short, too ugly, too removed from some incredibly complex topic that you will never be good with women. Being tall, being attractive WILL help, for sure, but often times the guys that are good with women will surprise you. Don’t get lost in assuming you will never get laid unless you learn a step by step guide that is over intellectualized and way too complicated. The solution is learning step by step how to be social. There’s a lot of old mom and pop wisdom to be learned and you don’t need an expensive “pickup artist” to guide you.
