Sounds like your friend doesn’t want to let go of her even though he has obviously not done anything in pursuing her. He probably likes the power he had in this particular situation and if you’re taking that from him, he feels threatened.
If he is talking with her daily and trying to know her to actually pursue her, then I’d talk again with him because it sounds like she’s super interested in you.

First of all no one can claim someone, your fried friend didn’t have the courage/confidences to make the move. Now he’s telling you not to? Dude, just go for it, you can tell that he has insecurities and he need time to address those. Other wise he’ll fuck up the relationship badly. Think of it like preventing him from going through all that.

He only kissed her once? If he was with her for a while I'd say that would be a big deal and it would be bad for you to go out with her. But he KISSED her once..? Nah man -- talk to your friend -- tell him he's being ridiculous -- and go for her, if that's what you want.

Hmmm... IMO, it seems like your friend is over-exaggerating. Kissing one time at a club does not claim somebody. If they were in a relationship this would make more sense, but it seems like calling "dibs" this early in the game is unfair for you and the girl.
The girl obviously likes you (at least as a friend) to be talking to you every night for 3 hours.

I once had a friend who was interested in a girl who was interested in me. My friend asked not to pursue her, like a good friend, I didn't. My friend ended up doing nothing with her as she was not interested in him. Moral of the story, unless your friend was an actual boyfriend to her (that's different) I say go for it, he just has to understand.

Firstly, yes.
Solid guy friends are way more valuable than a girl.
As a side note, this is why i don't trust guys who are bad with women.
Thirst will lead them towards all sorts of bad decisions.
Secondly, video dates are lame. Only beta males do 3 hour video dates.

it's not a date at all? We have mutual friends (our best friends are dating) and we are getting to know one another. Things ended between my friend and the girl I am talking to because he wasn't that interested.

Guys who are good at game don't spend 3 hours chatting with a girl - even in person - unless it leads directly to sex.
They 'get to know' a girl as they are moving towards sleeping with her.
Whatever you're doing sounds platonic, not sexual.
You're doing beta-male game. Trying to convince her you're safe, stable, and committed.
That's not how guys who get laid a lot interact with women.
If you're looking for a monogamous committed relationship, keep doing what you are doing. It might work.
But you are putting in a ton of effort compared to guys who sleep with more girls.
As for your friend, he sounds insecure. Be prepared for him to be butthurt if you end up with this girl.

Firstly, how does his friend sound like a solid guy friend at all?
Secondly, maybe you could point us to where in his post or replies that his intention is solely to sleep with her? Maybe he's putting in a ton of work to start a relationship with her.
We're kinda in a quarantine with a global pandemic raging about. Normal methods aren't exactly the most responsible.

For sure. You're right about the first part.
But, i still personally wouldn't be doing video dates.
And the guys i know who are really good at game are actively tooling guys doing video dates in their IG stories. And they are still pulling.
But... you're first part is right above all else. Different people, different goals. If he's after a relationship, then this method isn't the worst.

Well, you just threw me for a loop. I'm not used to people online reacting in a civil and non hostile manner where they don't dig their heels in because their ego can't tolerate feeling wrong. I respect that.
Civil discourse. It's a hell of a drug.
I won't speak on game because I have little to none at all.
Ehhhh, I lied. I'll give my perspective on video dates. Video dates seem more appropriate for people with the goal of starting a relationship. They don't seem to be very appropriate if the goal is simply to get laid. They seem to be a better tool when there's a pandemic/quarantine like now. Otherwise I would think meeting in person would be best for either goal.
