First, your SMV should not matter at work.

An encounter that goes bad at work can permanently lose you your job and even get you arrested. This is the "don't shit where you eat" rule.

Second - Never, every relate your sexual status to a woman. As you have learned, women cannot keep their damn mouths shut. Never, ever say anything to a woman "in confidence." They LIVE to gossip, and you gave her something REALLY juicy to work with.

The fact that you're voluntarily celibate isn't a problem. Given your background, you're making an informed decision.

As to advice? Ignore. You're not dating at work, so it doesn't matter.

If someone else brings up to your face, smirk and say, "Now why would she say something like that?" Then change the subject.

Being a virgin is definitely something you'd rather not be, that's true. But it's not that bad. If you're not short and have any semblance of frame you'll be fine.

Never admit your virginity if it isn't obvious that it's false. Just dance around the topic, e.g. if they outright ask "Are you a virgin?" respond "Want to be my first? wink", not "yes" or "no" or "I've fucked 10 girls this week!"

Worst case scenario fatty tells your prospect that you're a virgin, prospect believes her and tells you to get lost. No big deal. If being a virgin is bothering you, hit up an escort.

You learned a valuable lesson, make this your takeaway: Never, ever show weakness of any kind to a woman. Never give her any reason to doubt your SMV. If they ask, dodge the question or outright lie.

Women look for any chinks in your armour to see if you're fit as a mate. Don't give them any ammunition to reject you.

A little bit of cocky funny sarcasm. Virgin at 19 is pretty common for men (barring to ten percent) and not a big deal. Never answer or respond seriously to these types of questions. Never admit being a virgin to women

I noticed you explained why you are virgin to us in your post. That is cool, but there is no need for excuses. It isn't a crime to be a virgin at 19, if a woman likes you she will make up the excuses for you. Just own it if it is out, don't apologize or make excuses.

Sometime we have things that bother us, and we know they shouldn't. This is probably one of those things for you. It's easy to tell you 'hey man don't be bothered by this, it's no big deal'... But if you know in your gut that simply not being bothered by it is not an option: Don't try to wait for 'the one' to lose your virginity to. I waited, and it was a huge mistake. I flat out said no to 2 girls and missed plenty of other opportunities, and I was worse off for that. When I did finally choose a girl to lose my virginity to, at the time I thought it was good, but shortly after I realized I was too good for her too. Now looking back, the idea that I thought she was special is a bit of a joke. The reality is, when you are a man improving yourself every day, each girl you sleep with is a stepping stone to the next, higher step. You can skip steps sometimes but you will find it easier and more enjoyable to hit each step (because of social proof and your own self esteem). In a perfect world, our self esteem would have nothing to do with who we've slept with, but that still isn't the case with you or me.
