Strongly disagree. Confidence looks good on anybody.
This comment is a good example: we can't see how attractive its author is, or even their gender, but the tone is self-pitying. Self-pitying is not confident and so its tone is not very attractive, despite knowing nothing of what its writer looks like.
Just as your smile looks better when you're brushing your teeth vs. not brushing. Same with going out in t shirt and sweats vs. a smart looking outfit- Your smile or your outfit are not guaranteed to win over everybody, but showing that you put effort into yourself sends a strong message about how you value yourself and how you expect others to treat you.

this aint true my friend. i know what you mean i think in terms of the sentiment. along the lines of that what is considered a sexy action by a good looking person would be considered creepy by a bad looking person.
but confidence is sexy regardless of looks.

I have been feeling pretty confident lately too due to getting fit but it sometimes scares me that what would happen to my confidence if I ever get fat/out of shape and will my confidence start to fade because I am really confident now because of my fitness and looks
