How do I stop joggers/runners when I'm on a longboard?

You gotta understand, people are jogging for a reason.

They have certain goals they're trying to hit.

If you try to stop a girl who is jogging, you won't be adding value to her, you'll be taking it because you'll be hindering them from their goals.

What you should do instead is see a girl jogging from a distance and then smile at her or wave at her.

If she gives you a positive response back then you can roll next to her on your longboard and talk to her from there.

She might be the type to be serious about her workout and doesn't wanna talk or she might be the conversational type.

If she's the former then just roll away after a brief exchange. If she's the latter then continue the conversation.

If you can't make eye contact with them from a distance then roll up next to them on your longboard and say hi.

That's your test. If they respond coldly to that, roll away. If they respond warmly then talk to them.

Never try to get them to stop. Just have a conversations with the ones who are willing while they're still jogging and you're rolling along next to them.

Alternatively, you could look for a place where most joggers stop. Like maybe there is a juice place or cafe that sells healthy food around the area.

When me and my brother used to jog at the crack of dawn we always went to the same breakfast place afterwards.

If you know of a place like that, you might just meet a lot of the joggers there that you saw on the road.

If there's so much restrictions due to Covid in your area though, that won't be an option.

Joggers don't want to be approached by strangers. So I think you're asking the wrong question.

The right question is "who do I approach?" And the answer is not joggers. That's for damn sure. Unless you want to have a success rate of 0.1% and don't mind doing 1000 approaches to get a date then sure, go ahead and approach joggers.
