Are we all coders/progammers (logical thinkers)?

There could be something to that. I think it's easier for people like this to miss the subtle social cues others easily pick up on. Because these individuals tended to do well in school, and be ostracized, they miss out on learning these cues at a younger age. The thing to remember is men and women want the same things when it comes to sex and relationships. For people of this stripe it's often not knowing how to ask for what it is they want.

Do you even realise how many programmers (and more generally - "IT-guys": QA, support and all that) are employed by "financial institutions" nowadays? =)

Scientists can't get laid

Theoretically - they can. Practically - they are usually too busy and more interested in whatever science they are doing now than in those boring human females.

It does appear that the more logical your work is, the harder it gets. (that's what she said!) Or, it could be that logical thinkers retreat into a world they can control. So we miss out on instincts, etc.

Neither of those are satisfactory explanations. But I have one for you:

Anti-intellectualism. Widely spread in modern mass-culture. It brands "being smart" as something shameful and loads it with a whole superfreighter worth of negative stereotypes. And as this shame and those stereotypes are repeated to designated "smart guys" until they get internalised - it all becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy and seemingly add credence to said anti-intellectualism.

So it all comes down to how those "smart guys" see themselves and how people around them see them.

It seems like that, but I'm more feeler-oriented and empathic, not a logical thinker or rational for that matter. I feel everything a lot more including emotions. Good at writing, playing music, and being free-spirited. Just introverted and not naturally good at social things or being very likeable, so I go out and try to improve in these areas.
