Make an assumption on something you observe about her and get into a conversation about that.

It can literally be anything. I've made conversations by talking about how firm a girl's handshake is.

For example: "Wow. That's a pretty firm handshake. The vibe I'm getting is that you used to be really timid and unassuming but got sick of people's shit so you decided to be like, 'fuck it, I'm gonna be more assertive.'"

Just riff off of whatever assumption you make because a conversation will happen whether you're on point about it or you're way off. Also, if she's actually interested in talking to you, she'll clarify things for you.

The further you take an inaccurate assumption, the more funny it could be as well.

Being in the moment and paying attention to her instead of being in your head planning your next move is also very important so that you can get a better sense of whether she'd be receptive to the direction you're thinking of taking your assumption or not.

Why start a conversation with a compliment? It seems forced and insincere if you use it with every girl just to open her.

As for thansition give her some general question about her. It’s as simple as ‚nice to meet you xxx, so who are you?’

Lame compliments by the way. Compliment her on the body part that she seems to overemphasize like her ass, chest or maybe face, hair, etc. Or you can say, Hi I'm so and so, you look very cute, sexy, whatever. What's your name.

That’s why I don’t start with a compliment. I usually just make an observation and try to get them to give a few word answer.
