A complaint I've heard about game is that withdrawing your attention from a woman is punishment, or vindictive. It's not.

Consider two scenarios:

1) You like girl. She doesn't like you back. Hard next.

Chances are she knows you like her, because most guys are easier to read than children's board books. If she doesn't like you, she doesn't want your romantic attention. She doesn't want to feel pressure to reciprocate. She doesn't want to feel suffocated. She doesn't want you to freak out when she brings her BF around. So chances are, you withdrawing your attention is a relief to her. Especially if you've been acting weird or needy. Chances are, there is nothing she wants more than you to forget she exists.

Ah, but she might want to be friends. Read: she wants to ride the high off of being fawned over by you, but doesn't want to reciprocate. No worries, girl, you do you. You can't negotiate desire.

But...you aren't the kind of guy who gives away validation for free. There will be plenty of other guys who will give her that kind of comfort for a bargain price. That isn't vindictive. It's self-respect.

2) You're married. Kids. House. Dead bedroom and disrespectful spouse.

Withdrawing attention is the best thing you can do. You have to show her you can take care of your own feelings. You have to show that she can still hitch her wagon to you. She wants to feel her own emotional highs and lows. Not your ugly and intense male emotions.

If your girl still cares about you, dread game is magic to dying LTRs. She wants to feel tingles again. She wants to know she doesn't have to be perfect, or a fake nice girl. Plus, you need to create enough space to reinvent yourself. You can't do that by suffocating her, or being needy.

TL;DR: Women are disgusted and creeped out by needy guys. Compared to that, male aloofness is a reward.
