I'm sorry I think you've had a lot of trauma and could use some healing have you ever gone to a therapist? I think that may help. And yeahh to be honest most people are gross and disgusting and don't know how to just treat a woman like a person. Without trying to go right for having sex with some one. Have you ever heard of the show Crashing? With Pete Holmes it's about a nerdy guy who was in a deeply religious Christian group and then fell out of it and is trying to navigate his life from there.

I recommend therapy but if you want to change your ways, you should start slow small steps like making friends.

I'm actually trying to work on my social skills, through texting do if you want to be texting buddies hit me up. I have snapchat and a phone number :)

Hey, first off I want to say I’m sorry. No one should ever be made to feel insecure or worthless by anyone. Nobody deserves that. Regardless of how that felt, it’s more of an indication of what type of woman your mother was more than an indication of the the type of person you are. I’m sorry she treated you that way but I also just want to make sure you don’t believe her. It’s not true.

I will also echo seeing a therapist for help. As much as I and many others on here want to offer support it’s important to take time and vocalize how you’re feeling and get professional support to work through things. I can say (from first hand experience) that it is possible to work through these things, it’s not always easy but it can be done. As much as we all take notes and craft ourselves based on our parents and experiences that have happened to us, we don’t have to. We can craft ourselves. It’s ultimately your life and you can choose to live it and change it any way you would like to. It might just take support and some time but the potential for growth, rebirth, and change is always there. Be gentle with yourself and give yourself support and time too. You’re on no one else’s timeline but your own regardless if you’re 25 or 65. Doesn’t matter. You deserve kindness and patience from yourself and others.

Finally I’m sure your username is just a bit of a first-thing-to-come-to-mind thing but please if you ever feel like you should discard or end your own life. Ask for help. You may feel alone but I can say that people want you around. There are many people in the world that you may not even know yet that want you around. Don’t rob them or yourself of the gift of you. The most wonderful people I know came from the least wonderful situations. It wasn’t easy for them but they did it. Your life matters. I‘m just a stranger but I know that’s true.

Everyone suggests therapy. I honestly don't know what therapy is going to accomplish. By now you must have figured out that your mind is full of nonsense and fear. Talking to someone about it isn't going to help. You need to do something about it.

Nobody is laughing at you. I don't expect you to feel that in your bones or believe it in your mind, but it's true. They are probably just confused by your behavior.

Make some female friends. If you can't be comfortable with other women, you can't be comfortable with men.

Make a male friend who understands that you only want to talk. Find someone on the Internet, maybe through a language exchange app like Tandem. Get used to talking to him.

Develop confidence in other areas of your life, if that's an issue.

Don't waste your life believing your mind or your mother. Act now. Head deliberately and thoughtfully in the direction of what you want and fear.
