Grow your dictionary of words, exaggerate, use quotes from pop culture, pay attention to details.

Avoid to reply with a “Yeah, good one”, it’s like asking for more, while looking like a poor idiot.

Don’t attack back in any verbal or physical terms, you’ll look like a poor idiot as well.

Your reaction should be calibrated, it’s not about demonstrating something to a girl, it’s about being able to handle a verbal sparring in a social situation which, as a side effect, will also give you some social proof.

In the old days pick up that was called amog, Alpha Male of the Group. You can google it for some old time info. If im really interested in the girl then I might not even acknowledge the other guy after a few words. Ill just keep the convo between me and her. If a guy started making fun of me I might call him out on it with something like, “well that was a random thing to say”. Or ask her if she knows him and if she says no then just stand there as if wondering whats he doing there. Depending on the situation you can move your body to start blocking him off or even move her location.

You accept the jab, laugh at it, (something like “Well, that’s true”) and then continue with something that praises yourself, “But at least I’m acing XYZ” (whatever it is you’re skilled at)This isn’t an attack on them (that will make you look petty), it’s showing that you can shrug off their insults and demonstrating that you’re confident in what you can do.
