My ex has previously threatened to abscond with our daughter to a foreign country. The GAL involved in our case, recommended to not allow international travel with my daughter as SBTX is a flight risk. The judge in my case at pre-trial told us that she does not like putting restrictions on where parents may take their children, if they are under their care, they are deemed to be responsible. So I'm trying to think of different ways that I can put checks on how and where my SBTX can travel if she is allowed to travel.

Besides not allowing travel to countries not part of the Hague Convention. One idea is to have the passport held by a third party, where a deposit must be paid upfront upon receipt and paid back upon return of the passport. Any ideas on how to maneuver this in court? I'd like to eventually travel with my daughter (4.5) but not this young and not fresh out when our divorce case is judged. I feel like my SBTX is in for a rude awakening once everything is final and she might just want to split.
