I recently met someone through a volunteer project with my church.
She is recently broken up with an ex who cheated on her and (he) is a bit narcissistic, according to what she described about him. I was recently broken up with my an ex who cheated on me and also has some narc qualities to her, so this woman and I had some things in common we could relate to.
She had already put it out that she is not ready to date yet. Whether that was not date ME, or not date in general, I don't know.
Anyway... I invited her out for a boat trip where we anchored and shared a spread of food I prepared. She said that she had a great time. A week later, we saw each other again during another volunteer opportiunity. We talked some, and I invited her out to the local Dave and Busters, as I had a card still loaded with game credits that I wasn't going to use on my own, and offered her to come use them with me. She sounded interested and agreed for 9 days later.
I kept texting to a minimum, and connected over the phone a few days before, just to catch up on her week and reconfim time to meet, etc. She was still on board at this time.
Come the day we were going to meet, we had a brief text exchange and she said she'd see me later.
Fast forward to 4:00, when I was already showered, dressed, primped, etc., she calls profusely apologizing and saying that she couldn't make it, as she had a long rough day and wanted to have an easy night in. I was disappointed but didn't make a fuss about it. I told her no problem, let me know when she wants to reschedule. She didn't mention anything about rescheduling. She texted me a few hours later, again profusely apologizing. I again said no worries, I hope she's feeling better and to reach out when she wants to reschedule. Again, leaving to ball in her court to act upon, if she was indeed interested.
No response.
Since then, she's occasionally liked and/or commented on the random FB posts I have put up, but that's it.
Should I consider reaching out again and see if she wants to get together again? If so, any suggestions how to approach it?
Or should I just let it go?
For additional context, I am still dating other women during all this time (since she said she's not ready to date) and have subtly posted some of my dating adventures on FB, not showcasing the woman I am with, but making it obviously that I am not out by myself, hoping that this might pique her interest further knowing that there might be another woman interested in me.
Thanks!
