You guys may have seen u/TodayOrTmrw’s version of his night out in Japan, and although I don’t have his level of experience, my first night out was a blast.

Tldr: didn’t hook up with anyone but got one insta

Started the night by going to a bar that TodayOrTmrw recommended to me in Shibuya where there were loads of foreigners gathered up. The bar was definitely a sausage fest but the girls that were there were pretty cute. Definitely saw Japanese girls approaching and being especially friendly with the traditional white dudes but that’s just how it is over here (I’m Japanese).

Met a dude from Spain and we hit it off nicely, he works as a tour guide in Tokyo and he was nice enough to show me around and he knew all the tricks and tips for operating around the area.

Didn’t approach any girls at the bar, since as I said before, it was a sausage fest, and all the girls were occupied.

We met up with one of the Spain dude’s friend and we went into a club/bar environment where it was more spacious and the ratio was better.

My first approach was on a Korean girl who was sitting with her friend, but she didn’t seem interested so I quickly moved on.

Second approach was on an Italian girl who was on a work trip and she was super nice. I stumbled a little and she told me I was talking too fast but she kept me company until I got her insta and I went back to my group.

Looking back it was a little bit awkward and I remember I repeating lots of questions and statements but it is what it is, I still got her insta.

I think that I’ll be messaging her later today to ask about some places I should check out around here and hopefully she responds.

Overall it was a fun night out, in my experience all the best nights out that I’ve had happens when I go out solo, and that might be due to the mindset that I can’t rely on others to make the night and that gives me a little boost.

I had some small conversations with some local guys in Japanese and I felt the vibe that they are not interested in talking to foreigners that don’t look and sound Japanese, but it was a small pool so I may just be generalizing.

Going into this trip, my target was to get with some foreign girls that came to Japan to meet Japanese guys, but I will also try to go for some Japanese girls when I get the chance.

My first field report. It may not sound that eventful but it was a win in my book.
