Yes. This is what happened to me. Left on vacation together, came back separate as was our plan. I was locked out, I haven't been in since. That was 2 years ago. She gets to decide what I can have back, enjoys the house and the low mortgage payment, has been erasing me from there, and my daugther, well, she's back in her room with her things so no need to go see dad because he's living in an AirBnB. If I need a bowl or a pillow or a chair I have to go buy one. The judge has no interest in hearing the minutiae, it's as simple as the day the divorce was filed were you in the house or not? You left then. Being a woman she can also say she's too scared to have me back in the house, but I can't come in when she's not there. When I do go back to get w/e is left I'll have to hire an off duty cop or something for her safety. Technically mine too, since she can always say w/e to get me on a DV charge, because I'm a scary man and she's a poor scared woman. So at some point I'll go back, get whatever is left of mine, and then IDK what. Do not leave. Take pictures of everything in the house now. Take what is really important and put it someplace you can get to in case you get locked out later. I am fucked at this point. Pictures, books, clothes, anything I had, it's all gone and I have no proof any of it ever existed.

We had our last family vacation last summer. My wife was acting just peachy. Great car ride down, excellent time….Come to find out the whole time she was lining up things for the divorce and hit me with it after we got back.

Perhaps consider doing things in a less dramatic and conflict-seeking manner. You may be angry, resentful, tired or whatever, but you will dramatically increase your legal fees if you act these emotions out. Believe me, if she doesn’t want to divorce or doesn’t see it coming, she will create enough drama for both of you and more. Save your emotional energy, you’ll need it.
