What about them? Nobody’s saying that everybody needs a man in a romantic sense; just that men and women need each other in their lives generally.

I know plenty of men who feel unsafe at night…. I have no issue with an option to request a same gender driver if that’s what makes you more comfortable, but I think both men and women should be able to request this. Some say a female passenger-male driver, or male driver-female passenger could turn violent, but let’s face it- so could a male driver-male passenger or female-driver-female passenger. Most of the time, taxi rides aren’t violent…. but still the comments come in like “they have their fellow men to blame for this, not women, women drivers aren’t the ones assaulting/harassing people”.

If men as a collective must take responsibility for the actions of all dangerous men, then we as women must take responsibility for all dangerous women…. sounds good, right? When it’s put like that do these people realise just how stupid collective responsibility sounds?
