In 2021, 4,970 women were murdered.

That same year, about 40,000 men took their own lives.

Men are not afraid that women will laugh at them. Men are afraid that society, men and women alike, will continue to foster a hostile environment for vulnerability and that the male suicide rate will continue to break records every single year.

Of the American men who are alive today, 1 in 38 will die by suicide. That's more common than a woman dying from breast cancer. One of those two things gets $2.7 billion in research funding annually - guess which one?

This is the kind of quote that not only diminishes male abuse but also dehumanises men.

Bear in mind that Margaret came from a time when the very idea of male rape victims/victims of abuse by women were seen as a fantasy and not reality (still doesn't excuse her shitty quote) . So her opinions are super skewed. But what infuriates me is that people share this quote as if it means something profound or a "gotcha" towards men and that it somehow elevates the importance of female abuse victims.

Yeah Fuck that quote and Fuck margaret for saying that.

Context- a UK sport commentator’s wife and daughters were tragically found murdered in a targeted attack with a crossbow. Obviously my condolences to John, and those poor women who’ve lost their lives.

To blame “men” for it? For one misogynistic dude? It’s just not right- I feel like it might be a repeat of the Sarah Everard situation where there’s moral panic about men all over the media

Right. Right. Men set out not to have sex or date and have a relationship, instead they look for someone to kill. That's so ridiculous. That's some ridiculous level of victimized narcissism. Also most victims of killings are men.
