Yo what's up everyone, this is my first post here. I've been reading posts and comments for a while and I found many tips really helpful since I started stepping out of my comfort zone a lot recently and I started chatting up / asking out random girls at bars or while out on my business.

So. I had a really interesting convo last night at a bar with a woman I instantly fell for. She appeared to enjoy the chat too and seemed flattered and even surprised by my attention. I made it clear that I'm interested in her more than just a casual something. We exchanged numbers, roughly formulated a date for 3 days thence but agreed that I'd call her today to confirm. She never picked up so I sent a text which she didn't reply to so I thought thats that, is what it is.

A few hours later though she called me back and basically said that "I don't want to get into something like this right now, but I just didn't want to leave you hanging without a word." She didn't elaborate and I didn't ask (is this a mistake? does asking for explanation make you seem needy? of course post action it's clear that I could have asked what she meant by 'something like this,' for example). Anyway, I just told her that I do appreciate telling me straight up and bade her good day, and we hung up on a fairly cheerful note. Maybe it was the text as put her off but then why bother calling? If she's changed her mind why bother calling back even, aside from all too uncommon decency? (Sad that it should be strange isnt it.)

Long story short it got me thinking about objections, rejections and changes of mind that I've dealt with in the past, and if there's anything to do about them. I never overthought rejection but she really felt like a keeper and left me wondering if there's a cue in there for me to keep pushing the limit ever so slightly, not to be too pushy but just to show her that I'm actually serious, if that makes sense? Or if there's some bad past experience on her side that I could handle and soothe and allay her fears? Maybe she simply didn't like me as much as I thought, or there's a complicated situation in her background that I can't do shit about, who knows? Or do yall don't even think about it and just move on lol. What is your experience?
