Please review the underreporting of female-on-male homicides, like abuse excuse, fake self defense not counted but seen as justifiable murders, bias on the arrest and lack of suspects for women that lead male victims of intimate partner homicide and other female-on-male homicides as being misclassified as missing persons, suicides or natural death.

Female ingroup bias and male outgroup bias both say you will be fighting windmills.

However if there is a critical mass of such fighters (especially in education and mass media), the windmills might surrender.

Look for studies in which the criteria are bogus. I've converted several men who were indoctrinated simply by showing them the statistical incontinences in studies. People read the title of an article, then you challenge them to provide you with evidence supporting X, then they will link you a secondary if not tertiary source, then you attack the source, then they get pissed and quote a study then you dissect the study and find out the inevitable. Like those studies who equate violence with "he criticised your apparel" and shit.

Also attack the replicability of studies but I must warn you, you're in it for a LOT of trouble and heartache, hopefully you'll have the means to cover your studies and treat it as a hobby or you will go broke once they cancel you AND you'll have a ton of debt

In terms of academic qualifications associated with Gender Studies, perhaps not so much for postgraduate research, gender studies is a misnomer. Gender studies is infact women's studies, with a base firmly entrenched in feminist narratives.

You will no doubt find strong academic opposition to your studies if you step outside the feminist narrative. The body of knowledge you would be expected to use to support your propositions, resarch proposals and grant applications, will ALL be biased by the fundamental principles of feminist ideology (i.e. men are bad).

Most post graduate academics attempting to look at a male centre approach to gender studies, end up pushed into the 'healthy masculinities' approach. This approach sounds positive, but is based on the premise that masculinity is a harmful doctrine that hurts both men and women, and needs to be adapted to feminist principles to made safe, rendered 'healthy'.

So good luck. Look out for feminists offering gifts and support. Hope you find somewhere you actually follow your interest in men and masculinity.

The challenge you will have in the social sciences is that it is inherently misandrist and feminist. I did my PhD in this space focusing on men and I couldn't believe how misandrist it is. The other challenge will be finding sympathetic research supervisors, and then sympathetic markers. It may be easier focusing on another topic and once you have your PhD then you'll have some (though still limited) clout. While studying it, you could join some other male research studies projects as a side gig to help contribute to the scholarship (though this is also marginalised in mainstream unless you are very skilful with how you frame it).
