Need some advice regarding my upcoming divorce. There is about 40,000 in equity for our house assessment versus what's left in the loan. And the gains form my 401k during the marriage equates about 12,000 for her.. looking at a total of 32,000.. we have been scraping by paycheck to paycheck for years so obviously I don't have the money to take out for this. However, my entire 401k would be just enough to cover everything without me having to take out a loan and go into deeper monthly debt to make this up.. I know it's not ideal, but I am still young at 30 and will contribute a large portion of my paycheck back into my 401k to attempt to build it up as quick as possible.. just wondering if I have any other options than that or if anybody can offer some advice. Maybe those who have been through the same issues, there aren't any other accounts she would be entitled to for that and I may be potentially looking at an insurance payout for a workman's comp incident that I would be able to potentially reimburse my 401k or use that for the settlement money. Thoughts?
