At my school, there's many cliques between classes and whatnot, some of which I'm involved in, some of which I'm not. One of these cliques contains a low-SMV ex from my BP days, a friend from a similar time (basically both of them knew me as a classic Nice Guy, girlfriend dumped me after two months and neither of them would touch me with a 3ft pole at this point due to how they once new me), a current plate of mine and a girl I'm interested in plating. Quite a volatile mix, but whatever.

I was talking to the plate about random crap for no real reason (a problem of mine, if anyone can help me not need to constantly be talking to people for no reason I'd greatly appreciate it), and she happened to mention that the whole group had been discussing me. Now, normally I don't give a flying fuck if people want to badmouth me, but a lot of the details confused me. Firstly, they'd been discussing how terribly full of myself I am, and how they are done with all my "bullshit". Alright, understandable, probably them seeing me as a fake alpha due to knowing me in my BP days. The confusion arose when the potential plate jumped in, and more or less agreed. From what I heard she didn't really agree with the negatives, but also said she didn't want to date me.

This confuses me because of all the IOI's I've been getting from her lately. General stuff like mild kino and increased attention from her. So I suppose my question is, do the IOI's and "Don't listen to the words, listen to the actions" outweigh the negative social proof and groupthink that's going on here, or am I just wasting my time? Truthfully I'd like to just move on with the whole thing, as I can feel myself overthinking it, but I am genuinely curious as to what you guys think.

Cheers
