To me, oneitis over an ex and alpha widow are the same:
You've been with someone who - in your perception - had an exceptionally high value (because of love / ... / whatever).
Yet, TRP acts as if alpha widowed women are 'beyond repair', while oneitis should/could be overcome easily.
I feel like in the case of oneitis over an ex / alpha widow, the ex has a high value because of things that happened, and a new girl/man can never attain such high (perceived) value to start with.
