I am an Indian male 43, 0 children , a US permanent resident of West Chicago suburb dupage co, married since 9 years. I am planning to file divorce as my wife (99% unemployed) is financially irresponsible , verbally abusive and has physically assaulted me in the past. I spoke to lawyers , but I felt they are really taking 3k for documentation and raised their hands. As per lawyers, split all 1/2 and monthly maintenance for 3 years 1/3 of my salary. Can someone give me tips or suggestion on how to proceed, precautions I should take and points to forward so that I won’t loose a lot
