Hello! Looking for free legal advice, so what better place to go than Reddit?

Getting married and excited for it. However, I’ve always been very paranoid about divorce, and the possibility of someone having a change in personality and walking away with everything I’ve worked to earn. I’d be coming into the marriage with a sizable amount of cash, and a property, while she would bring some debt (not an atrocious amount). We’ve discussed finances prior, and the general idea is we would not have joint accounts. Keep finances separated, but share in expenses in a fair way.

Here is my concern: a week ago she suggested we get married in Colorado on a vacation we have planned. After a quick google search, it looks as though Colorado marriage license/law requires joint finances. My question is- am I opening myself up to liability this way with a Colorado marriage license? Currently reside in IL and we’re firmly planted here. Is there anything I should be concerned about, both in living with this out of state license (hopefully happily ever after) or in the case of a divorce?
