I know this has been repeated a lot but, there's a google doodle for the November "half moon" (???) with a game but nothing on IMD. This is some kind of sick joke.

Google has ALWAYS had a double standard but it’s not toward men. Google has branded itself as a company for the minority so they can bring in their business while avoiding getting its reputation damaged by said minorities who use activism against anything not supporting their platform. Don’t ever fool yourself into thinking that a business does anything other than try to make money. It’s always about profit for them. The hard part, sometimes, is seeing how what they are doing brings in the $.

If you want to de-google there are lots of options. Head over to /r/selfhosted and see some of the free open source projects you can use. Register a domain at cloudflare, use Zoho for email and you have a great email solution with total control over addresses (e.g. [email protected]) for free other than the domain registration costs ($10-12/yr). Immich lets you self-host photos, nextcloud to replace Google docs, etc. All you need to get started is any old PC with an internet connection.

Someone asked Google Support three days ago why isn't there a doodle for International Men's Day and an associate replied:

The ideas for the doodles come from numerous sources including Googlers and Google users.

Of course, you'll need to let Google know well before the event!
