The mileage is not challenging at all if you both have transportation. Just go to the movie, don't be pushy, politely ask if she wants to hang out after -if not respect that too- and go from there. Let her decide, should she want to, your place or hers.

I noticed there weren’t many responses to your post, so I wanted to jump in and offer some thoughts. First off—major kudos to you for meeting someone in person, expressing interest, and exchanging numbers! That’s an accomplishment these days and already puts you ahead of a big chunk of the dating crowd.

About your movie date idea - Movie dates can definitely be enjoyable, but I wouldn’t recommend one as an early date, especially with someone you’re just getting to know. The main reason for this is because there’s not much room for meaningful one-on-one interaction. You’re both just sitting quietly, which doesn’t do much to build connection or attraction. Additionally, there's no productive way to flirt (building attraction) while you're watching a movie.

Instead, here are a few alternative ideas to consider:

A movie night at one of your places (if both of you feel comfortable with that). The difference here is that you both can control the atmosphere a bit more. You can pause the movie if you want, for example
A stand-up comedy special at home—lighthearted and great for having some laughs together. Also, it's not THAT odd to talk during a stand-up video.

If you’re really set on this movie because she mentioned it, I’d suggest creating a date plan that surrounds it with opportunities to connect. For example:

Start with drinks or coffee beforehand to warm things up and build some rapport.
Go to the movie.
Finish with dessert or another fun stop afterward to end the date on a high note—with the focus on you two.
