In the later part of the article, it says that the male Israeli hostages will also be released later. So the headline’s focus on releasing women hostages isn’t because men won’t be released. It’s just that saving women’s lives is more appealing to internet readers. So, I think you’re right that the perceived value of saving women is higher than the perceived value of saving men’s lives, but the actual hostage release will include both men and women.

The "women and children" narrative has been incredibly strong during the attacks on and invasion of Gaza. It implies that all males are combatants, even aid workers, medics, journalists, etc end up being seen as somehow not as worthy as "innocents".

It is good that Israel is giving up some of it's hostages too, although they do hold considerably more of them.

Here is the release schedule:

Detailing unconfirmed elements of the deal, Channel 12 reports that of the 33 hostages to be freed in the first, 42-day phase of the deal, those to be released will be female civilians, then female soldiers, then men who are over 50, and men who are infirm.

I believe that this is the complete release schedule for phase one of the ceasefire. Men under 50, whether civilian or soldier, will not be released until phase two, but the specific negotiations for that phase won’t begin for another couple of weeks (the dead are supposed to be returned in phase three).

I can see the reason behind it for both side, while male is more potentially treatening and capable for combat even Israel conscripted the female. This could be purely objective.

But this is obviously the male being more oppressed, suffering, vulunarble. And the coutries which are no enagaged the war should not be so hyprocrities that only focus on the "female and children".

Just as today Israel agreed to release 200 Palestinian prisoners to exchange four female soldiers prisoners back.

I'm not left lean nor right wing lean.

But this news is definitely confusing lol.

What is so special about these 4 female soldiers is that the Israeli government thinks it is worth 200 people to exchange for it.

Are they even well trained?or just TikTok force.
