This might be slightly outside TRP philosophy, but why is it men who are interested in video games and anime usually end up in community college while men with more interest in sport usually end up in university?

If we assume your statement is accurate and factual:

People invested into video games and anime are more about instant gratification. There are less resources exhausted when playing video games or watching anime. All that it takes is time.

With sports, if you're not good, you're not going to be instantly better or even better over a short period of time, as you would if you were playing a video game. The time it takes to become proficient in either activity is drastically different.

To get to a university, you have to compete with your peers to win a spot. To get in community college, all you have to do is sign up.

does it have to do with issues of class? Alot of the people I know who went to uni for sports started playing very young and played on travel teams which are not cheap. Also sports teaches you to push yourself to achieve while anime and videogames tells a passive story you dont actually take part in. Jusy two posibilities.

It could be a common correlation with ambition. Guys who are content to do nothing but play video games are probably also content with a community college degree.

All top tier universities have tons of men interested in video games and anime... no idea about community colleges.

I've seen plenty of gaming, anime, and other geeky pasttime clubs at every university I've been at, so I don't think people with those interests are more likely to end up at a CC. However, universities tend to be bigger than community colleges and therefore have the funds for larger athletics departments, and since they have more (competitive) sports teams universities are more appealing to athletics-focused men. Maybe that's what you're seeing?
