It's too quiet - Help

On my days I set up a few dates, some fall through and if they do I go for a bike ride, started running recently, maybe a walk and get some food with a podcast. Socialize a bit with old friends, you need to keep that going even if you sometimes dont feel like it. Sometimes I take my laptop and pick a coffee shop to do some work on my side gig. Yes empty home eats me too but Im usually just spending evenings there.

Listen to a podcast, or an audio book, or music. Call a friend or family member. Put on a movie you like in the background. And, as others have said, get out of the house. Go for a walk. Go to the gym. Go to the grocery store.

Look for a divorce group in your area like Divorce Care.

Go for a walk. When you are tired, walk more.

Those 10/11PM walks are very liberating. Assuming you’re not in the middle of the city, the quaintness is amazing.

I would also encourage you to play music in the house if you are home alone. all over the house.

it’s just nice not to catch grief for even wanting to put a speaker in the bathroom.

You need to keep moving. Get out of the house. Stay busy. I know this seems impossible, but you must. Go for a drive. Go for a walk without your phone. Work out. Be as social as you can. Stoke up rando conversations with service workers or whomever you can interact with. Where you can, be kind and helpful to people. All the micro interactions help. Seek therapy.

I’m sure none of that I said is new. I am writing it down to remind myself. 2.5 months into the separation and hurting. I’m lonely (our age and kids situation is similar). I’m lonely. I get it. There is no silver bullet. It’s just time and distance.

I’m also trying to find books to read. Trying to switch up the schedule here and there. Really it’s just about keeping active.

Do not just sit in the house. That is not healthy. U must move and be active which engages the mind.
