37yo here and separated from ex-wife for seven months. I lost my job in June, four months before she asked for a divorce. I have been doing some gig and contract work but have not been able to get a full-time role. My last contract gig check was May 15th and I've been using assistance already. I have a massive network of people who say they can help, so I created an open letter explaining what's going on and seeing if anyone is willing to help. So far, $50. I literally need to make rent, pay my utilities, get my needed meds, feed my kids, and other things. My faith in humanity has been at an all-time low. I have been relatively quiet in the larger scale. My ex wanted to make an issue out of our son going to daycare for a half-day. I sent her the link and said, "This is why I need the half-day." I am going to see how this plays out.
