Whoever is the breadwinner, has a tremendous pressure on his back.

You can't get sick
you can't change a job without a big cash-reserve, which corners you regarding the career
you have to play it safe in all aspects of life, as your family depends on you all the time

If anything happens, not only is your partner in deep shit from day one, but they have no prospect of finding a good job, as their CV is empty. SAHM, SAHD is not recognized at all. What companies look for is a proven record of employment.

I am for equal pay or equal work, but also for the same fiscal responsibility and same treatment at the court if it comes to a divorce.

You can't simultaneously have no pay gap and an overwhelming preference for male bread winners.

You either accept the pay gap, or abandon the brand winner standard. The latter will probably never happen.

I’m pretty sure "Egalitarian" would include my wife and I but I earn almost twice as more.

I think men would mind the burden less if they had something in exchange. At the bare minimum, respect for providing for the family.

It also gets worse if you have ever seen a white collar work environment. Men will do more work on the same salary. Some people often get carried by others and I would say it is a majority of women

Have we considered that despite increased productivity per worker pay per worker has dropped to the point that one person can not provide for a family alone and that is a problem. We work that out and some of the other problems will go away.

The whole feminism movement always had corporate propaganda machines behind it to get women in the workforce full time so someone state approved could raise the children.

Even if we talk about it still doesn’t change the gender expectations. God forbid we ask women for help. Tried that and she ended up leaving lol. Then wanted to live in my house (since we have a toddler together) for a whopping $200 a month while she worked part time and went back to school. Talk about “fair”. the main problem is women entering the workforce halved the wages or if it did nit at least, decreased it , aloso since government dont want huge unemployment they will create paper pushing well paid white collar jobs why is that needed and what exactly is that good for the society?

Let’s not take away men’s agency just because we’re being catty about how fair the male/female dynamic is. Most men would prefer a stay at home wife raising their kids and doing the lions share of the house work etc. The men that can afford it choose it quite frequently.

Does it suck that most women aren’t competent enough or skilled enough to hold down the kind of job that would allow for their partner to stay home? Sure. Is it even worse that even when they are they would rather still chase after partners making more than them? Yes. It that doesn’t mean you can deny our role in this dynamic. So many men would rather date/marry someone young and sweet and feminine than someone on their level career wise, they want someone who would be a good mother.

The stay at home mom and provider dad are examples of good positive gender roles. We shouldn’t be shitting on them. They are desirable and statistically better for your kids. Would it be nice if we could reverse the rolls more often and still get those positive benefits, fuck yeah. I’d quit my job tomorrow, I’d be super fit, dinner would be amazing and ready on demand and I’d never “get a headache”.

As others have pointed out there’s great stress and responsibility on being the bread winner, but it is a choice that you make. If you’re choosing it you need to own it.
