I was going out with this girl for a little while and things were going great. We were sleeping together regularly and going on fun dates and discussing our potential compatibility for a relationship, which we both seemed receptive to.

Things changed when I caught COVID at the same time her friend was visiting her from out of town for a week. During this time we had a 10ish day stretch between when I last saw her and when we were going to hang again. I tried to keep things alive over text during that time but I am not the best at texting game so it was super platonic and unemotional. Towards the end of the 10 day stretch she hit me with a text that ending things (the exact text is in my comment to this post).

I know for a fact she was super into it before this as she told me as much and we had discussed potentially evolving this into dating and I truly believe that the “friend vibes” thing she specified was not an issue prior to the long stretch of unexciting texting (I probably tried to converse a little too regularly when I should have stepped back cuz I was climbing the walls bored during my social distancing period but I didn’t say anything that should’ve been a dealbreaker, only stuff that was fairly unengaging).

Saw a recent post just now about another guy (he was self described regular guy, not a super hot dude that girls will give countless chances) reaching out to a girl who ended things by stating she didn’t feel sparks, yet when he reached out a month later with an attempt to reconnect, she agreed and they set up a date.

I’m curious if anyone has any advice here on whether I might be able to accomplish the same or if I should just walk away and take the L. Would like to try and recover this as it was the first genuine connection I found in a while and it would suck to throw it away cuz I lost her interest over my inability to keep it interesting over text.
